\n\u201cThe pandemic inspired to some more serious subjects so \u201cUps!de Down\u201d, released in 2021, was a slightly darker album,
\neven though hope was always present\u201d, says Conny Bloom, the band\u2019s main song smith.<\/p>\n
\u201cGrand Explosivos\u201d, the new Electric Boys album, to be released September 15th via Mighty Music is, however, quite the
\nopposite. It might actually be that the boys are throwing the best party since \u201cGroovus Maximus\u201d! The album is a hard rockin\u2019,
\nmelodic, full of funk & fun adventure, which has become somewhat of the band\u2019s trademark sound.<\/p>\n
The first single \u201cI\u2019ve Got A Feelin\u2019\u201d showed the way into the classic rock arenas while the follow up single \u201cDomestic Blitz\u201d
\nkicks like a mule and won\u2019t take no prisoners. (Or maybe it will? Check out the video here and decide for yourself:). The boys
\nare clearly enjoying playing together and we are looking forward to one helluva party album at the end of the summer.
\nFormed in Stockholm in 1988, Electric Boys is a band with roots in 70s groove rock and 60s pop and psychedelia. Their
\ncritically acclaimed debut album, \u201cFunk-O-Metal Carpet Ride\u201d was produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi, The Cult,
\nM\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce) and spawned the self-produced Billboard Top 20 single, \u201cAll Lips \u2018N\u2019 Hips\u201d that got them heavy rotation on MTV.<\/p>\n
After extensive touring, the band entered legendary studio Abbey Road to record the follow-up \u201cGroovus Maximus\u201d, which
\ngave the band another Billboard Top 30 single with the song, \u201cMary In The Mystery World\u201d. The third album \u201cFreewheelin\u2019\u201d
\n(also recorded in Abbey Road) peaked at #16 on the Official Swedish Album Chart before the band called it a day in 1994.
\nGuitarist and lead singer, Conny Bloom went solo until he, as well as bassist Andy Christell, joined the legendary Hanoi
\nRocks in 2005. In 2009 they began the process of reuniting the Electric Boys. They released the album \u201cAnd Them Boys
\nDone Swang\u201d in 2011 and the critically acclaimed favorite \u201cStarflight United\u201d in 2014.<\/p>\n
In 2018 the return to studio albums finally happened, with \u201cThe Ghost Ward Diaries\u201d, a record that not only topped the
\ncharts in Sweden and Denmark but also brought back the distinctive sound of Electric Boys to their countless fans and
\nnew listeners. Roughly three years after, \u201cUps!de Down\u201d, written already under lockdown, repeated the success but
\nbrought a broader array of songs. Now, \u201cGrand Explosivos\u201d promises a new dynamite-like collection of classic hard rock
\nwith the trademark Boys\u2019 twist. A big priority release for Mighty Music.<\/p>\n
